Questions Welcomed, Doubts Expected

January 12, 2025

Why is it that in the courtroom of public opinion, or even in the church, we are often told: “No questions taken at this time”? Pastor Jason Britt kicks off the first series of 2025, “Coming Home,” by challenging the idea that questions and doubts are dead ends. Instead, he argues that they can be the very conduit or catapult that takes us to a place of freedom and joy we’ve never known.

Drawing from the lives of Jesus’ own brothers, James and Jude, Jason explores how doubt is a natural part of the human experience. He addresses the “mental picture” of God that many of us carry—a composite sketch formed by our family of origin, religious heritage, and cultural images like the “Sheriff in the Sky” or the “Big Man Upstairs.” If you’ve been keeping a distance from God, it might not be the real God you’re rejecting, but a misconception of Him. This message is an invitation to look past the “vomit moments” of life and find your way back to home plate: knowing and being known by the Father.
