No, you are not required to have a college degree to enter the Summer Internship or Residency Program.
CAN I HAVE ANOTHER JOB WHILE I'M IN THE RESIDENCY PROGRAM?
The Residency Program requires 20-hours of work per week. We work hard to protect our residents' time so they can get a part-time job within our community to supplement their income, if needed.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE RESIDENCY PROGRAM AND A SUMMER INTERNSHIP?
Calling and length of time are the main differences. The Residency program is an 18-month program for an individual who has been specifically called to vocational ministry and is looking to get experience through the local church. The Summer Internship is an opportunity for current college students to experience one season of ministry as they seek God's calling on their life.
DO I NEED TO BE ALREADY ATTENDING BETHLEHEM CHURCH TO BE A RESIDENT?
No. However, if you are called to ministry, you are attending somewhere. Let us know where you are attending and serving.
DO I HAVE TO LIVE IN RESIDENCE HOUSING?
No, it is only an opportunity, not a requirement.
WHAT DOES THE HOUSING ARRANGEMENT LOOK LIKE?
Housing is provided by Bethlehem Church host home families.
IS IT A PAID POSITION?
Yes, you will be compensated in both the Summer Internship and the Residency Program.
WILL I BE HIRED AT BETHLEHEM CHURCH FULL-TIME AT THE END OF THE PROGRAM?
We would love that, but ultimately the goal is to place you somewhere growing and healthy, even if it's not at Bethlehem. Two things will always be required for full-time employment here: We must have an open position at the time, and you will need to be the right person for the position.
