Summer camp is a pivotal experience for many students in their faith journey. Many middle and high schoolers have given their lives to Jesus on a trip like this, changing their forward trajectory forever. We at Bethlehem Church understand the role an opportunity like summer camp plays in their lives, and know it could be the very thing that tips the scales in trusting God. The investment in those that will participate has the potential to make a big difference in their walk with Jesus.

Breakaway Camp will be located at Crowders Ridge Camp just outside of Gastonia, North Carolina. The address is 130 Camp Rotary Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052. Your students will be at this location at all times during the week.

Yes. Like any camp experience, there are always opportunities to buy merch, extra food, knick-knacks, etc. This is not a requirement, but it is strongly suggested. Your student may want to pack lunch for the bus ride down to North Carolina. We will have options for them to pack one at the church, but it will be basic sandwich options.

Breakaway will feature morning and night worship sessions, devotional times, team competitions packaged in creative ways, and free time during the afternoons. There will also be Church Group time with our students. Food will of course be provided throughout the day during the regular time frames (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).

Depending on what cabin a student is in, they will be placed with groups of students their own age in a cabin with two to three leaders. We have access to most of the cabins at the camp. WE WILL TRY OUR BEST TO MAKE SURE YOUR STUDENT IS PLACED WITH PEOPLE THEY KNOW. We understand the stress of rooming situations, but flexibility is needed with limited space in each room.

We completely understand that this may be the case. If you will need to pick up your student from camp early, please communicate that before attending Breakaway Camp and we can make a note of it. However, there will be no refunds given for any situations involving early pick-ups.

If you are someone currently seeking to make payments to pay off debt right now, we commend you for making progress on that. And you should continue to do so. We would be happy to help you in this journey and recommend a budgeting class that might minister to you. Being in debt does not excuse someone from giving. Giving isn’t about what God wants from you; it’s about what God wants for you. So it should be our joy and privilege to give at all times, regardless of the amount or percentage.
