What is Baptism?
Baptism declares to the world you’ve trusted Jesus, joined God’s family, and made a commitment to follow Jesus, heart and soul. Because Jesus instructed us to be baptized, this is an act of obedience. While it is not necessary for salvation, it demonstrates submission to God.
Baptism is both a visual and symbolic demonstration of a person’s faith in Jesus Christ. It signifies that his former way of life has been put to death and depicts the raising up of a new life committed to following Christ.
